AML radar: beneficial owner, shell companies and fraud schemes, operation by operation
Updated to
In short: the Italian Guardia di Finanza and the European Public Prosecutor's Office publish operations on tax fraud, shell companies and hidden beneficial owners every day: here each operation is explained in its mechanics, with the red flags that an obliged entity can recognise in a client. We check official sources every 3 hours, from 7:00 to 21:00, and every article links the act or press release it is based on. It is written for accountants, lawyers, notaries and anti-money laundering officers.
How we select the news
A piece of news becomes an article only if it comes from an official source and changes something for whoever must decide on a customer, a supplier or a partner. Service notices, events and appointments are left out.
- Official sources only: every fact comes from the act or press release of the authority, never from press rumours.
- One article per fact: if the same news comes from several sources, we update the existing article.
- No name given as guilty: an investigation remains an investigation, and we write it that way.

Frequently asked questions
How often is this page updated?
Official sources are checked every 3 hours, from 7:00 to 21:00. An article is published only when an official source releases a relevant piece of news, so some days there are several and others none.
Where does the news come from?
From institutional sources: the Italian Guardia di Finanza, the European Public Prosecutor's Office, OFAC, the European Commission, the Council of the European Union. Each article links the act or press release in the Sources section.
What does the alert level of the page measure?
It counts the reports published on this page over the last 7 days. It measures how much official activity there is on the subject, not the risk of an individual company: for that, a check on the counterparty is required.
