Italian company credit report: what a US buyer gets
Updated to
In short: an Italian company credit report is built from Italian official data (the business register, the protest lists, the filed accounts), not from a US-style credit file. Veryfy's report starts at €19 for a full company check with beneficial owner, directors and shareholders, protests and insolvency signals, and an estimated operating credit limit, in Italian.

Where the data comes from
The official register is Registro Imprese, run by the Italian Chambers of Commerce through InfoCamere (Registro Imprese, the Italian business register portal (InfoCamere)). A US credit file does not exist for an Italian entity, so the report has to start here.
Protests (protesti, dishonored bills and checks) come from a separate official list: Law 77/1955 provides that only the Chambers of Commerce publish the official list of protests for unpaid bills of exchange and checks (Normattiva: Law 77/1955, art. 1). A report that shows protests is therefore quoting the Chambers of Commerce, with the date of the check.
Why the legal form changes the risk
In an S.r.l. only the company answers for its obligations with its assets (art. 2462 of the Civil Code, Normattiva: Civil Code, art. 2462); the same rule applies to an S.p.A. (art. 2325, Normattiva: Civil Code, art. 2325). In a società in nome collettivo (S.n.c.), all partners are jointly and unlimitedly liable (art. 2291, Normattiva: Civil Code, art. 2291). Two Italian suppliers with the same revenue can therefore carry very different risk for you, which is why the legal form is the first line of the report.
Reading payment behavior against Italian rules
Under D.Lgs. 231/2002 art. 4, late-payment interest runs from the day after the due date without a formal notice, and payment periods are in principle capped at 30 days from receipt of the invoice or goods; longer periods are allowed between businesses, and above 60 days they must be expressly agreed and proven in writing (Normattiva: D.Lgs. 231/2002, art. 4). If your Italian customer's contract says 90 or 120 days, the report's financial statements show whether that is normal for the company.
What a Veryfy report contains
Verifica (€19): a full company check, the beneficial owner (titolare effettivo), shareholders and directors, an estimated operating credit limit, protests and insolvency signals, and a comparison with companies in the same sector. Decisione (€49) adds registered real estate, links to other companies and restated financial statements. Istruttoria (€99) adds the application of risk algorithms developed by expert risk managers.
If you only need one signal, Negatività e procedure concorsuali (protests and insolvency procedures) costs €5.90, Titolare effettivo €9.90, Rating e fido operativo €9.90, and the Essenziale bundle of the first two €14.90. Prices are one-off and in euros.
Registered real estate is a fact about ownership, not a statement about what can be seized. The estimated credit limit is an estimate, not a promise that the company will pay.
Every company product comes with a free Check anti-truffa (anti-scam check): it looks at the VAT number in the EU VIES register, free webmail or disposable email, domain age, domains flagged for malware or phishing, SPF and DMARC protection, the VAT number shown on the website, data breaches affecting the site, and whether the IBAN is correctly written and from a country consistent with the company.
The service and the report are in Italian, built from Italian official sources: company names, offices and procedures keep their original Italian wording. Veryfy does not offer a translated report.
